HOW I WORK
I am based in Clifton, Bristol and have a successful practice working with adults and teenagers face to face and online. I specialise in a trauma informed approach to therapy that works and achieves remarkable, life changing results.
The foundation for my work is a compassionate, honest, and good humoured presence. Psychotherapy isn’t one size fits all, so I work knowledgeably in a way that will be exclusive to you and in each session you will benefit from my significant experience and extensive training. (see qualifications page).
I work with a variety of clients, usually suffering with distressing or destructive thoughts or behaviours such as addictions, eating disorders, self harm, anxiety and depression. Some have experienced trauma, or may be living through a worrying time, been diagnosed with PTSD, C-PTSD, or be aware of some developmental or childhood trauma or neglect.
FEES / COSTS
Psychotherapy requires a commitment from both you and me (client and therapist).
We would meet for an initial session where you can ask any questions you may have about how we would work together, and for me to find out what you are looking for from therapy. If we decide to progress, it would be on the basis of a commitment to regular weekly sessions.
I work face to face from a quiet room in Clifton, and online.
NB I won't see anyone for a session if they are under the influence of alcohol or drugs, and the session must still be paid for.
- My fee is £45 per session.
- Sessions are 50 minutes.
- I keep some spaces at a lower cost for students or low income clients.
Some have witnessed or experienced domestic abuse or a terrifying or violent event or events, some have survived sexual, physical,or emotional abuse.
You may be looking for therapy because you know you have experienced some form of trauma or disturbing experience, or you may simply be feeling ‘not quite right’.
Either way I can help you. You are not alone, and you are not irreparably broken.
I believe in the deep value of simply being in a calm, confidential and safe space where you can explore what's troubling you at your own pace .I will support and encourage you to express what is going on for you, and together we can try to make sense of things. Through being heard, allowing feeling and being genuinely 'seen', things get better...
